What we do
Custom cushion and custom removeable foot plate
Custom swiveling gutter support and bowl holder
Over the years, we have helped therapists achieve some extraordinary results, in some cases after every other option had been tried and large amounts of time & money spent.
The type of positional seating we do works brilliantly- we have seen the results time and time again: Our clients, their care-givers and therapists all tell us (but mostly we just know...).
We are totally commited to achieving the best possible results, be it:
¤ Foam in place.
¤ Custom fabrication / off the shelf combination.
¤ Custom shaped composite foam.
If you have a client who is a bit more challanging, or has never really been successful, we would welcome the chance to show you the difference MAPPS can make.
A custom seating system is fabricated to trial stage in about one day, usually from about 9:30am to 3:00pm. The client is left with this for three to four weeks, so not only can they get used to the new system, but any changes that may be needed can be identified.
It is usually a very satisfying day for everyone involved.
¤ All fabrication is done at the client's home / hospital.
¤ Totally user friendly systems.
¤ Less client / care-giver stress.
¤ Postural positioning that always works.
There are basically two types of postural positioning:
Type 1. Excellent positional seating that has the ability to hugely enhance quality of life, promote self-esteem, reduce or even stop deformity progression, behavior issues, pressure area problems and really remove the stress from clients who might be battling on daily basis with their positional needs. The added bonus is that caregivers love using totally user-friendly systems that so obviously benefit their clients.
Type 2. The complete opposite from the first. A custom seating system should be the best place for a person with positioning needs to spend the greater part of their day, both comfort wise and, more importantly, for passive resistance positioning. If you have been involved in this disability field for any length of time, you will have come across situations where this is not always the case.
